Ici et Là (meaning “here and there” in French) opened in Sydney’s Surry Hills in 2001. Founded by Andrew Forst, it quickly became a beloved landmark — a slice of France in Australia.

Over twenty-five years, Andrew built a loyal following for his curated collection of striped fabrics, canvas deckchairs and unique objets de charme, bringing the artistry of French weaving to Australian homes and establishing a heritage we’re proud to protect.

In 2026, Andrew chose to entrust his legacy to his long-time friend of over twenty years, Thibaud Cau-Cécile, and his wife Mikayla, returning to Australia after several years living in the South of France.

Thibaud, a Frenchman from the South of France and a veteran of the Australian design and furniture industry (Life Instyle, Denfair), and Mikayla are honoured to lead Ici et Là into its next chapter. This transition is born of a deep mutual respect and a shared commitment to the craftsmanship that has defined the brand since its inception.

The Next Chapter….

Exclusive Partnerships & New Horizons

As the business relocates to Victoria, we're embarking on a new era. Thibaud and Mikayla have secured Ici et Là as the exclusive AU & NZ distributor for the world-renowned Les Toiles du Soleil textiles, backed by specialist knowledge and service unique to the region.

Today, we continue to celebrate the iconic Ici et Là retail collection while expanding into bespoke design, from ready-made deckchairs and fabrics by the metre to specialist commissions, bringing the same precision and French artistry to every order.
